Watershed Education

The Center is the leader and catalyst in developing a seamless watershed education program with content standards, monitoring and assessment protocols, and connections at the community, K-12, and post secondary education levels. River Watch is a hands-on, education-based water quality monitoring program that imparts an appreciation of the Red River of the North and its watershed.

Professional Development

The Red River and You Teachers Institute is a professional development opportunity for teachers, educators, and community leaders. The training is designed to help educators understand and incorporate Red River of the North Watershed education activities into their learning outcomes.

Leadership Development

The Center places importance on developing leadership capacity throughout the basin. Emphasis is laid on supporting existing programs and activities with updates and improvements that help develop local “citizen leaders”. Engaging in best management practices and decision making for sustainability and enhancement of the Red River of the North Watershed are major tasks.
